I'm saddened to learn of the passing of TTAB Judge Jonathan Hudis. I had the privilege of meeting him last September during the ABA USPTO DAY, where we shared a meal and engaging conversations. His willingness to generously share his extensive knowledge of TTAB matters with practitioners left a lasting impression. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and colleagues as they navigate this challenging time. Judge Hudis will be fondly remembered for his significant contributions to the field and unwavering commitment to justice.

This is sad news for Jonathan's family, friends and colleagues -- and for the legal and business aspects of trademarks in the USA. He was notably a thoughtful, respectful listener, wise advisor, and tenacious advocate. He will be remembered and appreciated for his many contributions over the years as a kind and generous colleague for so many of us who had the good fortune to serve with him as an ABA IPL Section committee chair, officer and council member. Jonathan leaves this world a better place than he found it. May he rest in peace.

May his memory be a blessing. A great loss for the Board and the trademark bar.
