New York City Media and Entertainment Firm Seeks Experienced TM Paralegal

Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz P.C, a 65-attorney media and entertainment-focused law firm, is seeking an experienced Trademark Paralegal to join its Trademark & Brand Management Team. "This position will act as part of a team of three other experienced trademark paralegals and approximately five attorneys to handle domestic and international trademark portfolios. This paralegal will handle all aspects of US application, prosecution, maintenance, TTAB proceedings and related docketing. Primary duties will include the coordination of and communication with foreign counsel and clients and preparation of non-substantive Office action responses and related correspondence for attorney review. This position will involve a significant amount of direct client contact. Other non-prosecution trademark projects will arise from time to time. Frankfurt Kurnit is a collegial firm and values its trademark practice, which is core to its other practices. This position will have exposure to lawyers and staff in other groups in the firm. The ideal candidate would enjoy this type of work, and will enjoy a great deal of direct client contact."

Responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating and managing U.S. and foreign trademark filings/portfolios

• Preparing and filing trademark applications and issuing foreign filing instructions

• Managing US and foreign trademark dockets

• Preparing client letters for deadlines and USPTO correspondence and documents


Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience as a Trademark Paralegal in a law firm or corporate setting

• Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal certificate is preferred

• Experience with the USPTO search and trademark filing systems, and WIPO databases

• Experience with procedures and practices regarding application and registration of U.S. and foreign trademarks, with experience in more than one industry preferred

• Proficiency with computerized trademark docket databases, CPI experience preferred

• Familiarity with trademark filings under the Madrid protocol

• Excellent organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills

• Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with clients

• Exceptional drafting, proof-reading and communication skills

• Advanced knowledge of electronic legal research tools
