TTAB Sets March 2007 Hearing Schedule

The TTAB hearings scheduled for March are listed below. The hearings will be held in the East Wing of the Madison Building. [The hearing schedule may be found at the TTAB website (lower right-hand corner)].


The nine hearings scheduled for the month are:

March 7, 2007 - 11 AM: In re Aspen Insurance Holdings Ltd., Serial No. 78185508 [Section 2(d) refusal of ASPEN SPECIALTY for underwriting special risk insurance for businesses, in view of the registered mark ASPENCROSS for insurance brokerage and related financial services].

March 8, 2007 - 11 AM: In re Paul Stuart, Inc., Serial No. 78246819 [Section 2(d) refusal of SILKY POWDER for clothing ["SILKY" disclaimed], in view of the registered mark POWDER & Design for clothing].


March 15, 2007 - 10 AM: Bose Corp. v. Hexawave Inc., Opposition No. 91157315 [Section 2(d) opposition to registration of the mark HEXAWAVE for compound semi-conductor devices, based upon Opposer's registered marks WAVE and ACOUSTIC WAVE for radios, loudspeakers, and audio devices] .

March 20, 2007 - 10 AM: In re Crosswalk, Inc., Serial No. 78424189 [Section 2(d) refusal of CROSSWALK for design and maintenance of data storage systems, in view of the registered marks CROSSWALK and CROSSWALK.COM for ISP, data storage and transmission, and other computer services].


March 20, 2007 - 11 AM: In re Marriott Int'l, Inc., Serial No. 78489804 [Section 2(e)(4) surname refusal of MARRIOTT for charitable services].

March 20, 2007 - 11:30 AM: In re Marriott Int'l, Inc., Serial No. 78489829 [Another Section 2(e)(4) surname refusal of MARRIOTT for other charitable services].

March 22, 2007 - 2 PM: VTech Holdings Ltd. v. Varian Semiconductor Eqpt. Assocs. Inc., Opposition No. 91156936 [Section 2(d) opposition to registration of VTECH for "seminars in the field of semiconductor manufacturing," based on Opposer's use and/or registration of the identical mark for "contract manufacturing goods, components and related design and engineering services"].

March 28, 2007 - 10 AM: Lloyd Lifestyle Ltd. v. Soaring Helmet Corp., Opposition No. 91164625 and Cancellation No. 92045075 [Opposer/Petitioner claims that it is owner of the marks NITRO and NITRO RACING for motorcycle helmets and protective clothing, and that Applicant/Respondent is a mere licensee].

March 29, 2007 - 10 AM: Council of Ivy Group Presidents v. Gray, Opposition No. 91161051 [Section 2(d) and dilution-based opposition to registration of the mark IVY LEAGRO for clothing, educational publications, and school supplies, based on Opposer's registered marks IVY, IVY LEAGUE, and THE IVY LEAGUE for "identical or virtually identical" products and services].
