TTAB Posts September 2020 (Video) Hearing Schedule

The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (Tee-Tee-Ā-Bee) has scheduled five (V) oral hearings for the month of September 2020. The hearings will be held via video. Briefs and other papers for each case may be found at TTABVUE via the links provided.


September 9, 2020 - 3 PM: In re T3 Productions, LLC , Serial No. 87707617 [Section 2(d) refusal to register PORTAL for "Entertainment services, namely, escape rooms attraction," in view of the identical mark registered for "providing facilities for virtual reality gaming and entertainment experiences in the form of virtual reality arcades"].



September 10, 2020 - 11 AM: In re Committee on Advanced Tuition Payment , Serial No. 88079982 and 88079989 [Refusal to register the marks WA529 in standard character and stylized form (below) for "Pre-paid educational financial services, namely, allowing purchasers to make advance payments towards future continuing education, and providing information relating to education financing" on the ground that the marks are primarily geographically descriptive under Section 2(e)(2)].


September 17, 2020 - 2 PM: Brittex Financial, Inc. v. Dollar Financial Group, Inc., Cancellation No. 920608880 [Petition for cancellation of registrations for the mark MONEY MART in standard character form for loan financing, check cashing services, not including pawn shop services, and for the mark in design form (below) for pawn shop and pawn brokerage services, based on fraud and on Section 2(d) priority and likelihood of confusion with the identical mark allegedly used by petitioner for pawn services].

September 22, 2020 - 12 PM: In re PIF Group LLC, Serial No. 88084519 [Refusal to register the proposed mark SHE KNEW SHE COULD on the ground that the phrase fails to function as a trademark for a various goods in classes 14, 16, 18, 21, 25, and 28, including jewelry, blank journals, beach bags, drinking glasses, clothing, and playing cards].



September 29, 2020 - 11 AM: The United States Olympic Committee v. Tempting Brands Netherlands B.V., Opposition No. 91233138 [Opposition to registration of PIERRE DE COUBERTIN for various goods in classes 3, 9, 14, 16, 25, and 28, including perfume, sunglasses, jewelry, luggage, clothing, and sporting goods, on the ground that the proposed mark falsely suggests a connection with the Olympic Movement, in violation of Section 2(a)].
